Pakistan’s Cholistan Jeep Rally 2014
The annual Cholistan Jeep Rally is Pakistan’s largest motoring event, with more than 100 drivers and almost 100,000 spectators taking part each year. The first Rally was held in 2005 in the 16,300 square-mile Cholistan Desert near the city of Bahawalpur. This year’s event was unique in that it was the first time a female driver participated when Tushna Patel, whose love of racing began when she was her husband’s navigator, raced a Vigo 3000cc during the Rally, finishing seventh in her class.
This video from Zeepar Films shows just how grueling this race through the Pakistani desert can be, with deep sand and rough terrain that takes a toll and cars and drivers alike.
