In what is one of the more unlikely track matchups we’ve seen in a while, Motor Trend’s Head 2 Head pitted the new Chevy Camaro Z/28 – a serious muscle car – against the Nissan GT-R Track Edition, a car known for its exceptional stability and traction to complement its generous power.

Given the Z/28’s 500hp 7.0L V8, you’d think that the Camaro might be able to hold its own against Godzilla’s 545hp twin-turbo V6 in a straight line, but the Z/28’s weight, manual shifting and lack of grip off the line put it at a serious disadvantage in a drag race compared to the GT-R’s all-wheel drive and fast dual-clutch transmission.

Conversely, what’s truly impressive is how well the Z/28 handles in the corners. Between its improved downforce, sticky Dunlop tires, and huge carbon ceramic brakes, the Camaro definitely gives the GT-R a serious run for its money.

You’ll need to watch the video to find out which car performs best overall.
