Porsche 918 Spyder Lap at Circuit of the Americas

Take a ride with professional driver Patrick Long in the Porsche 918 Spyder as he does a lap of the new Circuit of the Americas in Austin Texas. The hybrid 918 Spyder has both a 4.6-liter, eight-cylinder engine capable of producing 608 horsepower as well as electric motors in the front and rear. All three combine to make an astounding 887 horsepower. Long gets the car up over 170 mph in the back straight of the track and even then, the car doesn’t seem to be working that hard.

The 918 Spyder is priced at over $845,000, so this may be as close as we get to sitting behind the wheel of this incredible supercar. (Ok, we already sat behind the wheel of one at the Detroit Auto Show, but we probably won’t ever get to drive one.)
