ICON D90 Land Rover V8 Reformer

ICON is perhaps best known for its updated FJ series of 4x4s that are modern versions of the Toyota Land Cruisers of the past. But they also enjoy reworking other classic off-road vehicles including this venerable Land Rover Defender 90.

ICON began with the Defender, which most likely showed up with its stock 68 horsepower diesel under the hood and swapped it to a 6.2 litre LS3 V8 capable of more than 400 horsepower. Then they pretty much took the vehicle apart and replaced all the major components. ICON also added a four-speed automatic transmission with an Atlas II transfer case along with a new Twisted UK suspension, Bilstein shocks, Dynatrac axles, and new 17″ wheels. They also powdercoated many of the components then gave the better, stronger, faster Defender a coat of black paint.

The result is surely a machine that will perform extremely well both on and off road and look good doing it. No word on whether ICON will put this one on the block for sale, but we’re sure the asking price will match the extreme performance.
