EVO Takes the Ferrari LaFerrari to the Track

EVO recently had the chance to get behind the seat of Ferrari’s entry into the hybrid hypercar arena, the LaFerrari. Driven by a massive naturally-aspirated 6.3-liter V12 engine, paired with a 164hp electric motor, the car can push out as much as 963 horsepower, and 664 lb-ft. of torque.

Unlike other hybrid hypercars, the LaFerrari’s electric system is there solely to fill in any gaps in the engine’s torque, and to augment off-the-line performance. In fact, the car has no electric-only mode. Described by reviewer Dickie Meaden as the “Ferrari 458’s big, badass brother,” it clearly demonstrates its true Ferrari DNA, and just from watching the video, it’s clearly a more visceral driving experience than its biggest competitors.

You can check out EVO’s full five-star review of the LaFerrari here.

Now we really want to see a proper race between the McLaren P1, the Porsche 918 Spyder and the Ferrari LaFerrari.
