Silverstone Pays Tribute to Bullitt

One of the all-time classic chase sequences in movies has to be the scene in Bullitt which Detective Frank Bullitt guns it around San Francisco in his Mustang GT to chase down a couple of mob guys driving a Dodge Charger GT. To promote the upcoming U.K. 2014 Silverstone Classic car festival, they shot a fun promo film which pays homage to the original sequence.

The clip gets the cars right, and features plenty of little nods to the original, though they had to take it easier on the cars now that they are “classics”. Plus, the lack of hills makes it lose a little something in translation. Heck, let’s just watch the original…
