EVO Reviews the 2015 Subaru WRX STI

Written by Paul Strauss | May 17, 2014

The Subaru WRX STI is one of those cars that has a rabid fan following – rightly so – due to its historically impressive price/performance ratio, rally-style handling, and ease of modification among other things. There’s been some debate among purists about the styling of the 2015 WRX STI, but it still looks like an impressive car to us. EVO managed to spend some quality time with the new car, which shares the same drivetrain found in the previous generation WRX STI.

While many of the changes from the prior version are aesthetic, but the car does offer a much stiffer chassis, slightly stiffer suspension, quicker steering, and active torque vectoring. A huge rear wing helps hold the car firmly to the ground. The big question is whether or not a 305hp engine still cuts it, or if Subaru should have upped their game in that department in the face of growing competition. Watch and find out.
