2015 BMW M4 Does a Little Drifting

The brand new BMW M4 looks pretty sweet, but up until now, we’ve pretty much only seen some canned footage from BMW. Journalists are now starting to get their hands on the car, like the guys at Autoblog.NL. They took the car on track and on the open road a bit while on a recent event in Portugal, and we have to say it looks mighty good drifting around the track and burning rubber. The 420+ horsepower Bimmer looks like a ton of fun going around the corners, and seems to be pretty well behaved in and out of drifts thanks to its new M Dynamic Mode.

And while we’re not crazy about the idea of BMW amplifying exhaust notes in the cabin with its “Active Sound” system, it’s clear from this video that the car pushes out a decent amount of sound from its actual tailpipes for those outside the car. Sure, it doesn’t have the booming baritone sounds of the old M3 V8, but it offers plentiful popping and crackling to make up for it.
