Bentley Continues to Tease Its First SUV

Bentley has been planning to release its first ever sport utility vehicle in the not-too-distant future, and is starting to show off bits of the vehicle. The Bentley SUV will pack in the same sort of true luxury, performance and craftsmanship found in their other cars, and the company claims it will be the “world’s most powerful and luxurious SUV.” Given their experience, we don’t doubt Bentley’s ability to pull this off one bit.

The teaser video shown here gives us a brief glance at the body shape of the vehicle, but very stingy in what it gives up. Chances are that the vehicle will build upon the EXP 9 F concept first shown at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show, and will be based on the next-gen version of the Volkswagen Group’s large SUV platform (likely to drive future versions of the Audi Q7, Porsche Cayenne and VW Touareg as well).

We look forward to seeing more of the Bentley SUV later this year, as they prepare for a 2016 production release. Bentley also says they will release a plug-in hybrid variant of the SUV in 2017.
