Genty Akylone Supercar Video Surfaces

Written by Paul Strauss | May 31, 2014

The Genty Akylone is one of those aspirational (and unpronounceable) supercar designs that looks amazing on paper, but is of that breed that rarely gets beyond the prototype stage. Up until now, the French automaker had limited itself to showing static renderings of the car, but has recently revealed a video showing what the car would look like in motion. It’s still just a CGI rendition, but it definitely makes us want more.

Genty has currently spec’d the Akylone with a 1,200hp custom-built V8 engine, with a target 0-to-62mph time of 2.7 seconds, and a 0-to-124 goal of 7.2. But then again, you could make up any numbers you want if you don’t have to build an actual car.

At this point, development of the Akylone will only move forward if they’re able to raise sufficient funds to build a full-size model via their crowdfunding campaign. This model would then be used to raise funding from investors for prototyping and production.
