The upcoming Goodwood Festival of Speed brings together car enthusiasts from all over the world to West Sussex in England and the country estate of the Goodwood House. One of the automobile-centric activities that will take place is the annual hill climb featuring historic vehicles as well as finely tuned racers and motorbikes.

Former Formula One driver David Coulthard gives us a turn-by-turn look at the Goodwood hill climb course in a Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Black Series with a few tips on how to tackle the tricky climb. He’s obviously not trying to break any record times in his lap, but he’d surely be able to give it a hell of a run if he wished, driving a 622hp V8 that does 0-to-60 in 3.5 seconds. The hill climb is done within the grounds of the Goodwood estate and the course is just 1.16 miles with nine turns.
