With the launch of their new Special Vehicle Operations team, Jaguar Land Rover has started to show us the fruits of their early efforts. The first vehicle to surface from the Land Rover division is the 2015 Range Rover Sport SVR.

A special edition of the already impressive Range Rover Sport, the SVR will offer a massive 550 horsepower V8 supercharged engine – 40 horsepower more than the current top-of-the-line model. The SUV’s anti-roll system has also been tuned to allow for faster cornering, and additional modifications have been made to give it sports car handling characteristics. In watching the teaser video, it appears to have Recaro sport seats, though we’re not sure if those were fitted specifically for the Nürburgring testing.

Land Rover says the prototype of the Range Rover Sport SVR will make its debut at the 2014 Goodwood Festival of Speed, which kicks off June 27, and will show off its abilities at the venues famous hill climb.
