Bugatti Veyron W16 Engine Rendered in LEGO

Written by Kenny Hoeschen | July 20, 2014

The Bugatti Veyron is an impressive supercar no matter how you look at it, but the heart of the Veyron is its 1,001 horsepower, 8.0-liter, quad turbocharged, 16 cylinder engine. This marvel of automotive engineering essentially consists of two V8 engines sharing a single driveshaft (the two “V”s thereby forming the “W”. And the engine’s four turbochargers allow the Veyron to avoid the turbolag that might otherwise be found.

If you want to learn more about just how the Bugatti W16 engine works, Solde LEGO has created this animated version of the engine — of course, rendered with LEGO bricks. Everything from the four camshafts to the engine’s 64 valves are lovingly recreated in LEGO. We just wonder how many horsepower you could push out of a plastic engine.
