Drving a Lancia Stratos HF

While there have been numerous kit cars which mimic the classic Lancia Stratos, there’s nothing quite like an original. In this clip from the object of my envy Marchettino, he managed to score a ride in a beautiful candy apple red Stratos HF. Not only does the clip capture the wondrous exhaust note of this classic car, but the scenery of the twisty and turny Italian coastal road makes me want to put my car on a boat and move to Europe today.

The Lancia Stratos HF was made from 1972 to 1974, and just 492 of the cars were produced. It’s powered by a 2.4 liter Ferrari Dino V6, hence the amazing engine sound, and the design by Bertone’s Marcello Gandini is unmistakable.
