Tanner Foust Rings out his Rallycross VW Beetle

We’ve known about Tanner Foust’s impressive new Volkswagen rally car for a while, but every time we see it, we can’t get enough. Despite looking like a relatively tame VW Beetle from the outside (other than the air intakes and massive wing), this beast has been fitted with beefed-up turbocharged 1.6-liter, 4-cylinder engine which pushes out a whopping 540+ horsepower. The car has also been fitted with a sequential 6-speed gearbox with a limited-slip differential, and rally suspension and dampers. With everything in place, the bug can hit 60mph in under 2 seconds. Try that with a stock Bug.

Since Tanner calls this video a “teaser”, I’m hoping that much more footage of this impressive Beetle is around the corner.
