Rare 1986 Zimmer Quicksilver Hits eBay

It’s doubtful you’ve ever seen a Zimmer on the road. Founded in 1978, Zimmer Motorcars certainly embraced the prior decade of automobile design when it unveiled the Zimmer Quicksilver. Based on the chassis of the Pontiac Fiero, just 170 of these cars were ever built. The MSRP of the car when it was first built was $48,000, which is pretty incredible for a car in the mid 1980s, considering that as about the same price as a Porsche 911 Turbo at the time.

You can place your bid on this one, which has just under 60,000 miles on the clock, if you’re interested in adding this unusual two-door to you collection. The eBay auction currently stands at $13,000 USD (with the reserve not met) with bidding ending on September 22, 2014. The seller states that the car retains its original red paint color with a dark red leather interior. The Quicksilver is located in Tennessee if you’re interested in a test drive.
