The 1980s television series Knight Rider turned the 1986 Pontiac Firebird into a legendary crime-fighting supercar. Not only was KITT the predecessor to Apple’s Siri, but he was also fitted with weapons and a host of crime-fighting gadgets and could drive by itself. Sort of like Siri meets Inspector Gadget meets the Google self-driving car.

TheAFICIONAUTO’s Christopher Rutkowski had the chance to take a modified 1986 Firebird Trans Am for a spin with Michael Knight himself, David Hasselhoff. The car was put together by Jennifer Catano, a long-time Knight Rider fan, who bought her first Pontiac Trans Am as soon as she was legal driving age and immediately began converting the bright green Pontiac into her own version of KITT. She spent about a year getting her own car show-worthy and has been updating it and improving on it ever since. She then went on to build a KITT car for Hasselhoff himself and she, along with his bodyguard, gave it to him for his 60th birthday.
