Brutus IOUS: One-off Custom Built Sports Car

Written by Paul Strauss | October 21, 2014

What you’re looking at here has to be one of the more unconventional custom car builds out there. Dubbed the Brutus IOUS, this custom-made vehicle exposes most of its structure, with very few body panels to speak of. Other than its welded metal bar construction, there are just a couple of small body panels on the front of the car, along with some ribbed sections along its side. Its hood almost looks like the open pages of a book – perhaps the Bible, given its Catholic cross hood ornament.

Regardless of what you think of its unusual styling, the Brutus IOUS does sound impressive when it revs its engine. Apparently, it’s got a turbocharged small block Chevy V8 engine in back, along with a Porsche transmission, but that’s about all I can find out about its drivetrain.

The car was spotted by YouTuber RealMCR12 and has Virginia license plates. If you happen to live in the area, you might spot it on the road someday. At least you’ll know what to call it when it passes by.
