Volvo Teases V60 Cross Country

Volvo won’t be officially unveiling the new V60 Cross Country until the 2014 LA Auto Show later in November, but the automaker shared a few teaser images to get the safety conscious buyers’ interest piqued before the announcement. The Cross Country follows in the footsteps of previous Cross Country models, which date back to 1997, as a ruggedized version of Volvo’s V60 wagon. It comes in with a ground clearance that comes in about 2.5 inches higher than standard wagon. Volvo has also added front and rear skid plates underneath, scuff plates along the sides, fender extenders and an integrated dual exhaust at the back.

The V60 Cross Country will be available with either 18- or 19-inch alloy wheels and inside buyers can choose distinctive black leather sport seats with brown stitching or new two-tone leather upholstery options. The first V60 Cross Countries will land in the US and Canada and will be fitted with Volvo’s five-cylinder 250 hp gasoline engine and all-wheel drive mated to an automatic transmission. Globally, the car will include options like Volvo’s Drive-E four-cylinder diesel and other petrol engines.
