Gorgeous Mercedes-Benz 300 SLR Replica on eBay

The original Mercedes-Benz 300 SLR is arguably one of the most eye catching – and valuable – cars ever designed. But with the one true 300 SLR, driven by Stirling Moss in a record-setting 1955 Mille Miglia, being valued in the tens of millions of dollars, this might be the next best thing.
Built as part of a run of five vehicles made by Clemar Bucci Racing, this car is a precise replica down to just about every detail. It’s even registered as a 1954 Mercedes – so I’m guessing it’s got underpinnings of a real vehicle of its era. The replica has a full aluminum body, and sports a 6-cylinder engine disguised to look like the original 8-cylinder that was in the real 300 SLR.
Despite the car being a replica, its seller is looking for a princely sum for it, with the opening bid for the auction set at $485,000(USD).
