Adam Martin purchased a classic 1968 Chevy Camaro back when he was just 17 years old. With just a cursory knowledge of what it takes to maintain a classic car, this was the first step in a journey that would affect Martin’s path in life.

Without much disposable income, Martin took classes in high school and got a job at a gas station to learn how to do things like upgrade the car’s non-original six-cylinder engine to a big block V8. He then added custom headers and a new exhaust and even painted the car in its original Grotto Blue in a “clean room” he set up in his garage. Eventually, it was Martin’s interest in the Camaro that convinced him to attend college, an decision that has changed his entire life. Of course, he still has more plans for the ’68 Camaro and may one day even add a radio.

Petrolicious put together this video profile of Martin’s journey and his love affair with Lucy, his 1968 Chevrolet Camaro.
