Tesla Model S P85D Takes on Corvette C7 Stingray
So the Tesla Model S P85D has 691 horsepower and an all-wheel drivetrain, while the Corvette C7 Stingray has “just” 450 horses and a rear-wheel drive configuration. However, the ‘Vette has about almost a 700 pound weight advantage, so they’re actually surprisingly well matched on a drag strip. Never mind the fact that the Corvette in this race has been “modified” – so we don’t know what sort of power it’s got under the hood, or what sort of tires either car is riding on.
So which car turns in the quicker time and higher speed in the 1/4 mile? Watch the video above and find out. While these sort of informal drag races are never the most accurate way to gauge the performance of a car, I still enjoy watching two powerful cars racing each other side by side.
