Six-Year-Old Asked GM’s CEO To Make a New El Camino

Using a six-year-old’s logic, the Chevrolet El Camino is clearly the coolest car ever. The six-year-old in question is Rafael Barkan, and he really wants GM to make a new El Camino. “He first saw an El Camino at the Autry Museum’s Route 66 exhibit last summer,” says the boy’s dad and he “instantly fell in love with the El Camino, because ‘it’s a muscle car AND a truck.'” I’m inclined to agree, in a certain way.

It’s been since 1987 since the El Camino was made, although GM-owned Holden has been making awesome Utes (that are sadly being discontinued) in Australia this whole time. As a person who likes performance cars, desperately wants a track-worthy car, and also makes frequent trips to the lumber yard to build sets for his non-profit, professional ballet company, a Holden HSV Maloo R8 would basically be the perfect car. I’d even put up with it being called “El Camino SS” to get my hands on one. I signed the petition, and you can too if you click here.
