Porsche Vows Future Turbo 911s Will Still Sound Good

Porsche has made a turbo version of the 911 for a very long time now, so when we say the Porsche 911 fleet is going turbo don’t get confused. Porsche is bringing turbos to most of the 911 fleet starting this fall. The move is presumably in part to meet fuel efficiency standards.

One of the hallmarks of any sports car, the 911 included, is the sound. According to Car Magazine, Volkswagen development chief Dr. Heinz-Jakob Neußer says that the turbo 911 cars will sound just as good as the current naturally-aspirated versions. Porsche also promised that the new turbo engines will be as rev happy as the current mills.

That is good news indeed. We have already heard that these new turbo engines coming to the 911 and other cars will make at least as much power, if not more, than the current engines. This is despite the loss of displacement some of the cars will see.
