2016 Nissan Maxima Production Kicks off

If you liked what you saw when the all-new 2016 Nissan Maxima debuted, you will be glad to hear this. Production of the 8th-generation Maxima has now kicked off at the company’s Smyrna, Tennessee factory. Nissan is hoping that the all-new car will reignite sales of the Maxima, which have languished over the last few years.

Nissan made a big deal about production kicking off. The automaker had the Tennessee State University marching band lead the workers who built the first Maxima through the plant where it was constructed. There were flashing lights, confetti, and the works as the car rolled off the line. Nissan claims it was the world’s largest indoor parade, though I’m not sure how they’d confirm that.

The 2016 Maxima will go on sale this summer starting at $32,410(USD) with the most expensive version starting at about$40,000. If you like the old model Maxima, this would be the time to buy. I’d expect huge discounts on leftover 2015 Maximas.
