We Need the Audi RS3 to Come Stateside

We previewed Audi’s newest, incredibly powerful hot hatch the RS3 at the beginning of 2015, at which time it was still unknown if the automaker plans to make the vehicle available in the States. Although Audi has yet to announce whether the RS3 will make the trip across the pond, after seeing video of the blazing performance of this compact rocket, I desperately hope the ultimate answer is “yes.”

Combining the everyday practicality of five doors with a perma-grin-inducing 367hp and 343 lb-ft. of torque, the RS3 can get the groceries from 0-62 km/h in an astonishing 4.3 seconds. Top speed can be set to 174 mph on request, and the RS3 boasts a lowered sport suspension and 19-inch alloys.

Packing a 5-cylinder, 2.5-liter turbocharged engine, a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox, and Audi’s AWD quattro drivetrain, the RS3 also comes with an optional sports exhaust. That option is deployed on the Audi in the video above, and the exhaust note is simply glorious. Let’s hope eventually we can hear that tune on U.S. streets.
