Porsche Cayman GT4 Put to the Test on the Track

I have been a fan of Porsche since I knew what a Porsche was. Out of all the cars the German sportscar maker currently builds, the one I want most is the already sold out Cayman GT4. This car is much more desirable to me than the 911. Conspiracy theorists have claimed since the Cayman first appeared that Porsche was being careful to limit the performance of the Cayman to leave the 911 as the top dog in the line.
That seems to not be the case with the new Cayman GT4, which packs the same 3.8-liter flat-six found in the 911 Carrera S, detuned to produce 385 hp, and the same steering and front suspension found in the 911 GT3. Could the GT4 be the first Cayman that is faster than the 911 on a track? That is what the latest video from Motor Trend’s Ignition wants to find out. Host Jason Cammisa gets to push the GT4 hard on the road, and then takes it to the track to put it through its paces. Other than a tendency to understeer, the car seems very impressive, and it looks as if the only 911 that is safe from the GT4 is the 911 GT3.
