Land Rover Tech Lets You See Through Trailers

Land Rover has developed a cool bit of tech that will help people towing a trailer to see what is going on behind them. Anyone who has ever towed something with their vehicle knows how bad the blind spots it creates can be. Transparent Trailer tech uses a wireless camera that can be affixed to the back of the trailer along with other cameras mounted on the vehicle to make the trailer seem to disappear.

The mirror-mounted LCD screen shows a faint silhouette of the trailer, while letting you see everything around and behind it without obstruction. When the vehicle is shifted into reverse, the feed comes through the infotainment system screen.

Land Rover is also showing off its Cargo Sense app that works with a wireless camera that can be placed into the cargo area of the trailer so you can keep an eye on loads like horses. The system uses a floor mat fitted with sensors that help determine if the cargo or animal is shifting around abnormally. It can also report interior and exterior temperature in the trailer, as well as if anyone is tampering with it.
