Man Pops World’s Fastest Wheelie

If you told me you were about to hit 209.8 mph on a Suzuki Hayabusa motorcycle, I would tell you that you were nuts. If you told me you planned to reach that speed on a single wheel, I would know you are nuts. Regardless of the insanity of it all, a man named Gary Rothwell did just that.

Rothwell recently took to an airstrip in England and hit that speed on his motorcycle while popping a wheelie during a Straightliners Top Speed event. That was enough speed to break the world record for the feat by 10 mph. The same guy used titanium skis to be pulled along behind his motorcycle at 150 mph in the past, so he’s no stranger to extreme feats.

You can check out the wheelie in this admittedly poor video. I say poor because you only see the view from bike’s point of view. Here’s a side view of the action, but you can’t really tell what he’s doing since he flies by so quickly:
