The Bond Bad Guy Cars Get Their Turn

It may be sacrilege to admit, but for the forthcoming Bond movie Spectre, I’m more stoked to see the villains’ cars. Nothing against the regal Aston Martin DB10 we featured here yesterday, but c’mon, have you see what the bad guys get?

There’s the positively nasty-looking Land Rover Defender, complete with 37-inch tires and tug-boat-style ropes across the hood and grille. The baddies also get to chase 007 in a Range Rover Sport SVR, massive yet capable of 0-60 in less than five seconds. The LED floodlight above the windshield is a brilliant touch, and the thundering exhaust note could make a Bond girl weak in the knees.

And to top it off, Jaguar Land Rover delivers a burnt orange CX75 hybrid hypercar, the gorgeous concept that one day, maybe, should be a reality and not just another concept. While the XCAR team only gets to cruise along at an un-Bond-like 30 miles per hour, the 1000 horsepower machine can break 200 miles per hour when the hammer is down. Sorry, James…. It’s going to be hard not to root for the bad guys – or at least their rides – in Spectre.
