Hennessey Venom GT Spyder Packing 1451 hp Heads to SEMA

Hennessey Performance Engineering will be showing off three vehicles at the 2015 SEMA show when it kicks off tomorrow. The coolest of the trio of vehicles looks to be the Venom GT with its power output bumped up to an insane 1451 hp. I’m not sure that much power in a car based on the Lotus Elise is a good idea at all.

The car clocked a record breaking top speed of 270.4 mph back in 2014, and all that power comes from a 7.0L twin turbo V8 with 26 psi of boost. The Venom GT can reach 60 mph in 2.4 seconds and run the quarter mile in 9.4 seconds. Another of the cars is a 2016 HPE750 Mustang convertible with 774 hp from a 5.0L V8 with 9psi of boost.

That Mustang can reach almost 208 mph. The third vehicle is the 2016 VelociRaptor 650 Ford F-150. It makes 650 hp from a 5.0L V8 and can reach 60 mph in 4.9 seconds. It also has an upgraded suspension and equipment to make it ready for speed off-road.
