Shelby GT-H Rides into Hertz Rental Locations this Summer

Back in the ’60s, you could go to Hertz and rent a real Shelby Mustang under the Hertz Rent-a-Racer program. Hertz and Ford have continued that relationship and starting on Memorial Day weekend in select Hertz airport locations around the country; you will be able to rent a Shelby GT-H Mustang.

Sadly, this isn’t the epic Shelby GT350 Ford sells. It’s a standard 5.0-liter Mustang GT fitted with black paint and gold stripes and some other visual accessories. The engine is all stock and the car is fitted with the Ford Racing Handling package, 19-inch wheels, wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport rubber, as well as a throaty cat-back exhaust system.

I guess if you need a car for a track day or autocross, this might fit the bill. I wish it were a GT350 you could rent, that would be more exciting. Hertz ordered 140 units and they will be offered via the Adrenaline Collection rentals. There is no word on how much it will cost to rent one, nor what limitations there will be on use outside of public roads.
