Jeep Adds Grand Cherokee Trailhawk and Summit ModelsMarch 24th, 2016
Jeep has unveiled two new versions of the Grand Cherokee for the 2017 model year. The two new versions include what Jeep calls the most capable Grand Cherokee ever with the Trailhawk, and a more luxurious version called the Summit. The Trailhawk promises increased 4×4 capability off-road with standard Quadra-Drive II 4×4 system and an electronic limited-slip differential.
The Trailhawk also gets a unique version of the Quadra-Lift air suspension for improved articulation and suspension travel. Other features include Selec-speed control and hill ascent control. The SUV offers up to 10.8-inches of ground clearance, an impressive increase compared to the 8.6-inch clearance on the base model.
The decidedly more urbane Summit model rides on big 20-inch aluminum rims, and has a full Nappa leather interior with leather seats, center console, door panels, and more. Interior can be black, brown, or dark sienna brown with a suede headliner.
The Summit has standard Quadra-Drive II 4×4 capability and Quadra-Lift air suspension. Both the Trailhawk and Summit models can be had with the 3.0L EcoDiesel V6 and 8-speed transmission. Pricing is unannounced at this time.
