Subaru Unveils 2017 Impreza Sedan and Hatch

Earlier this month we talked a bit about the new Subaru Global Platform that would underpin everything wearing the Subaru badge going forward. We also mentioned that the first glimpse at this platform would come in the form of the new Impreza unveil. That unveil has happened and the new Impreza looks pretty good.
The new Impreza looks much more modern and muscular from the outside, and also gets a completely redesigned interior. Power will come from a 152hp 2.0L Boxer with direct injection, standard all-wheel drive, and connected to the wheels by a CVT. The Sport model will get 18″ alloy wheels, active torque vectoring, and sport tuned suspension.
Granted, the images that Subaru has offered up aren’t of the WRX version that the enthusiasts out there really care about, but they hint at what the WRX will look like. Perhaps most importantly, there is a 5-door hatch version of the new Impreza. Presumably that means a hatch WRX will be coming back.
Here’s an in-depth walkaround of the new Impreza by Subaru National Product Communications Manager, Dominick Infante.

This new 2017 model will be the first Impreza built in the US. Both models of the car look good, but I can’t wait for the WRX flavor to debut.
