Top Gear’s Reasonably Priced Vauxhall Astra Hatch for Sale

If you live in the UK and want to own a piece of Top Gear history, one of the “reasonably priced cars” that stars raced around the Top Gear track is now for sale. The car is a 2013 Vauxhall Astra with a manual transmission and 116 hp four. Mileage is listed as 2908 and presumably that is kilometers – so that’s about 1800 miles.

That is a long way to have been driven wide open and scratching gears on a racetrack. The car is fitted with racing seats, safety harnesses, and a roll cage. Since the car has a roll cage, the interior was modified and airbags were disabled. That means the car isn’t road legal and it will cost big bucks to make it road legal again.

It’s not the track car you might want, but it would be cool to turn up at a track day in a Top Gear ride. The bid is up to £8,000 (~$11,300 USD) right now, but the reserve isn’t met, and the eBay UK auction has a bit over 8 days to go.
