Vision Mercedes-Maybach 6 Drivetrain Specs Revealed

This week we have seen a slew of photos turn up highlighting the style of the Vision Mercedes-Maybach 6 concept car. One of the things that we didn’t know about was what sort of power the car would offer. I was hoping for a big V12 under the hood, but Mercedes was thinking more green with the car.

The car uses an electric drive system, capable of generating 550 kW (or about 750 hp), with power distributed to all four wheels. Its battery pack is integrated into a shallow under floor shelf to help keep the car planted. That battery gives the car a 500 km (~310 mi) range according to the NEDC and over 200 miles of range according to the EPA – just to show you how measurment standards vary wildly around the globe.

It’s also fitted with a quick charge function that can charge the car up to 350 kW capacity in five minutes. That is enough power for an extra 100km (~62 miles) of driving. The car also supports wireless charging tech.

The electric drivetrain will push the big luxury car from 0-100 km/h (0 to 62 mph) in less than four seconds, and its top speed is 250 km/h (~155 mph). Not bad for a 20 foot-long luxury yacht.
