A Hot Lap Around VIR in BMW’s M6 GTLM Racer

I’ve been to a whole bunch of tracks around the U.S., but I’ve yet to drive on – or even visit the Virginia International Raceway (aka “VIR”) But if I ever have the good fortune to do it, I can assure you that my lap will never approach the sheer brilliance of this one driven by race pro Bill Auberlen.

Bill makes quick work of the 3.27-mile track’s twists, straights, and 18 turns from behind the wheel of his No. 25 BMW Team RLL BMW M6, pointing out the proper shift points, brake, and throttle application along the way. At least if and when I get the chance to drive VIR, I’ll be sure to study every second of this clip first. Or I can hope that BMW sends me there someday, and let’s me take a hot lap with Bill himself. I can’t imagine a more awesome way to get around the track, then with someone who knows it this well.
