2017 VW E-Golf Improves Range by 50%

Volkswagen has officially rolled out the 2017 E-Golf, and it has some big improvements over the last model. Namely the battery is larger moving from 24.2 kWh to 35.8 kWh. That improvement leads to a 50% improved driving range with up to 124 miles on a single charge. The battery can be charged in six hours thanks to the new 7.2kW on-board charger standard on SE and SEL Premium trims.

When using a fast DC charge station the battery can be topped to 80% capacity in just an hour. The 2017 e-Golf also has more power with 134 hp and 214 lb-ft. of torque. Still 0 to 60 time is an unexciting 9.6 seconds, with a top speed of just 93 mph.

Buyers can also now opt for the VW Digital Cockpit that provides fully-digital gauges on a 12.3-inch color screen, as well as an optional 9.2-inch glass screen Discover Pro infotainment system.
