2018 Mercedes-Benz E-Class Cabriolet Announced

Mercedes-Benz has debuted its new E-Class Cabriolet. The car is designed to have a silhouette that is similar to the E-Class Coupe, only with a drop top.

Up front is a dramatic grille with bright LED performance headlamps (or optional Multibeam LED headlamps), and around back the LED taillamps are designed to resemble the glow of a jet engine.

The Cabrio’s soft top is fabric and the car has a climate control system designed to make it usable year-round. Mercedes fits the car with neck warmers to keep the driver and passengers comfortable, and has a special system to help prevent drafts inside the car when the top is down.

This also marks the first time the model has been offered with AWD. Mercedes will launch the car with both gas and diesel engines mated with a 9G-Tronic 9-speed automatic. An amplitude-dependent damping system is standard, while full adaptive damping and air suspension are options.

Pricing for the E-Class Cabriolet is unannounced.
