2018 Genesis G80 Gets New V6 Turbo Sport Edition

Pricing for the 2018 Genesis G80 range has been announced, and the latest model start at $42,725(USD) for the base edition. That price includes destination, and is a modest $500 price increase compared to the previous model, which was already about $2600 more than its Hyundai predecessor. The base car gets a 3.8-liter naturally-aspirated V6 with 311 hp and 293 lb-ft of torque, 18-inch wheels, HID headlights, and more.

You can cobble on a $5,000 3.8 Premium package, which adds LED fog lights, a panoramic sunroof, a 14-speaker Lexicon audio system, ventilated front seats, parking sensors and more. Add to that the $5,100 Ultimate package and you get LED headlights, upgraded leather seats, a 9.2″ touchscreen, a 17-speaker audio system, shift-by-wire, and a few more bells and whistles.

Moving up the line a bit is the all new G80 3.3T Sport, which starts at $56,225. That car gets a 3.3-liter twin-turbo V6 with 365 hp and 375 lb-ft of torque, presumably that’s same engine going into the Kia Stinger. It’s got a new cross-hatch dark chrome grille, black mirror covers, dark chrome 19″ wheels, quad exhaust, and carbon fiber trim inside, among other features.

The top of the line G80 5.0 starts at $57,975 and gets the gas guzzling 5.0-liter 420hp V8 engine. All models can be had with HTRAC AWD for another $2,500. It must be that big grille, but for some reason the G80 Sport reminds me more than a little of a Chrysler 300 in the front.
