JAS Motorsports has announced that in 2018 it will be introducing a race car based on the new Honda Civic Type R. The car has a completely revamped exterior design and aerodynamic package to cut drag and improve downforce. The race car also gets an all-new multilink rear suspension and anti-roll bar system, along with a new ECU and an improved roll cage. The car also gets the latest FIA lifting device integrated.
JAS also says that it plans to build an endurance racing version for VLN and 24h series racing. The new Civic Type R TCR will be part of the current list of 19 models and more than 300 cars eligible for TCR competition around the world. Customer deliveries will start on December 15 of this year, and the first 25 cars finished will be available for the start of the 2018 racing season.
