Lotus Evora GT430 Packs 430 hp

Lotus has taken my least favorite car it has ever made and turned it into something dead sexy and powerful. The new Lotus Evora GT430 is a beast of a car with 430hp and weighing in at only 1258 kg (~2773 lb). The light weight and power means a 0-60 time of 3.7 seconds. The big feature of this Lotus like all others is the handling.

Lotus uses special springs and Ohlins dampers on the car. To aid handling further, the car has lots of aero bits helping to make up to 250kg (~551 lb) of downforce at 190 mph. It has special air blades and louvers on each wheel arch to reduce pressure and lift, and aero ducts behind the wheels.

It’s also the most powerful road-going Lotus car to date thanks to that supercharged 3.5-liter V6 engine. Power goes to the super-sticky Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires via a special 6-speed manual with a single mass flywheel and a Torsen-type LSD.

Lotus will make only 60 of the GT430 Evoras globally.  Pricing is unknown.
