Chevy Donates First Production Corvette ZR1 to Charity Auction

Chevy has a long history of donating cool cars to be auctioned off for charity. At the Barrett-Jackson auction in Arizona this month, some wealthy benefactor will walk away with the very first production 2019 Corvette ZR1.

The proceeds from the auction will go to the Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation. That foundation was started by the Siller family to celebrate an FDNY firefighter and family member who lost his life on 9/11. They provide mortgage-free smart, accessible homes to severely-injured service members, so it’s a really good cause. There will be no auction fees for the charity vehicle, and all money raised goes to the charity.

The new ZR1 is a beast. It packs in a 755 hp supercharged V8 engine that makes 715 lb-ft of torque. All that power and torque goes to the ground via a 7-speed manual transmission.
