Ford Performance Sharpens Its Blade with the 2019 Edge ST

It’s a great thing that Ford is expanding its ST performance brand into more vehicles. The latest ride to wear the ST badge is the 2019 Edge ST – and the the 5-passenger crossover is the first SUV to wear it. Power comes from a ST-ified 2.7L Twin-turbo EcoBoost engine that makes 335 hp and 380 lb-ft of torque.

Power goes to all four wheels via an 8-speed paddle shift automatic transmission. The Edge ST gets a Sport mode with revised throttle response, increased engine braking, and a sporty new exhaust note. The suspension is has been tuned for performance, and there are available performance brake and summer tire packages.

The vehicle gets special 20-inch (or optional 21-inch) wheels, a wider grille for cooling, and special front and rear styling. The scuff plates have a Ford Performance logo, and there’s ST badging on the sport seats and steering wheel . Pricing is as yet unannounced, but the Edge ST will be in dealerships by mid-2018.
