All-New 2019 Subaru Forester Adds Sport Trim

Subaru has unveiled the all-new 2019 Forester, and fans of the sensible SUV will like what Subaru has cooked up. The new Forester gets a new 2.5L Boxer four that makes 182 hp and 176 lb-ft. of torque in all models. That is up from the 170hp and 175 lb-ft. of torque in previous models.

All versions have a Lineartronic CVT transmission and Subaru expects it to get 33 mpg on the highway. EyeSight Driver Assist tech is standard on all versions along with the expected all-wheel-drive Subaru is famous for. The Touring model gets standard DriverFocus tech to identify signs of fatigue or driver inattention. That system also recognizes up to five drivers and remembers presets for seat position, climate, multifunction display, and more. A new Sport trim is offered for 2019 that gets all the features of the Premium line and adds a gloss black grille and black 18-inch wheels.

It also gets a roof spoiler and orange accents on the black underguards and roof rail mounts. Inside the interior is an exclusive dark gray material with orange stitching and accents. Sport and Touring versions also get a manual mode with paddle shifters for the CVT. New for this year is a panoramic moonroof, which comes standard on Premium, Sport, Limited, and Touring trims. The new Forester will hit dealers later this year, and pricing info will be released later.
