2020 Toyota 4Runner Venture Edition Is Ready for Adventure

I’ve always said that if I was going to be left with a single vehicle to survive the zombie apocalypse, it would be a Toyota 4Runner. Not only are these rugged body-on-frame SUVs basically indestructible, they can go just about anywhere, regardless of terrain, and have lots of space for passengers and cargo.

2020 4Runner models are getting upgrades in the tech department like Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and Amazon Alexa. Every trim level also now gets Toyota Safety Sense Plus, which includes Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection, Lane Departure Alert with Sway Warning System, Automatic High Beams, and High-Speed Dynamic Radar Cruise Control (DRCC). Another welcome addition is the dual USB ports for rear seat passengers.

Then, there’s the new Venture Edition, which adds a Yakima Megawarrior roof rack to help you carry all your gear for outdoor adventures. The steel rack has a capacious tray measuring 52″ long by 48″ wide by 6.5″ high and includes crossbars. The Venture Edition also scores some sweet gunmetal grey 17-inch TRD wheels, along with blacked out mirrors, door handles, rear spoiler, and badges.

The Venture Edition comes with part-time 4WD, a 2-speed transfer case, CRAWL control, active traction control, and multi-terrain select functionality to maximize off-road handling and capability.

Venture Edition buyers also get SofTex seats with TRD lettering and heat up front, all-weather floor mats, as well as keyless entry and start as standard. Toyota has yet to announce pricing for the 4Runner Venture Edition, but it’s likely to slot in somewhere just above the TRD Off-Road Premium, which starts at $42,470.
