Land Rover Fans Can Now Buy a Fancy Roof-Top Tent for the New Defender

The new Land Rover Defender is a capable and luxurious off-roader. Fans of Land Rover who enjoy taking their new Defender into the wild may be glad to hear that Land Rover and Autohome have teamed up to create a roof tent designed specifically for the Defender 110.

The hallmark of the fancy tent is that it can be put up in seconds with one movement. All that has to be done to deploy the tent when it’s time for some shut-eye is to unlock a clasp on the end of the fiberglass shell, push the shell up slightly, and gas struts take over and open the tent fully. The sides of the tent automatically deploy, and inside you’ll find a mattress, pillows, LED light, and a compact aluminum ladder.

The tent can sleep two adults comfortably and offers access from both sides. The Defender tent is available right now for €3,081.96 – roughly $3,500 USD, which isn’t exactly cheap.

Jeep Wrangler owners can get similar roof tents for about half that price. Granted, the Wrangler can close to half the price of the new Defender costs in some trims. The tent is available in the UK right now, as is the Defender 110, with its starting price at €45,240. US-bound Defenders start at $49,900.
