Infiniti Celebrates a Custom Q60 Drift Machine with a Short Film
Infiniti is showing off the passion and enthusiasm for its brand by releasing a new movie filmed in its home country of Japan. The short film features a highly modified Infiniti Q60 that was imported from America and handbuilt by a passionate team in Japan to compete at the highest ranks of drifting competition. The movie showcases restoration specialist Tatsuhiro Shibata and the driver Koudai Sobagiri.
The team behind the car says the Q60 to them was the best-looking car in the Infiniti line but wasn’t sold in Japan. The vehicle was imported into the country for personal use and was driven normally for about ten years.
The car has a modified VR38DETT GT-R engine tuned to produce 1000 horsepower, paired with a sequential transmission. It has lots of carbon fiber body panels and custom racing gear, including upgraded wheels and tires, and a roll cage. Check out all the tire-smoking action in the video below:
