Corvette Marketing Manager Hints at 2023 Z06 Price

For weeks before it officially revealed the C8-based Corvette Z06, Chevrolet teased fans with information on the car. With the car now official, we know how cool it is, and it’s being positioned as a racecar for the streets. However, one of the most significant pieces of information that’s still unknown about the car is how much it will cost.

During an interview with Steve Garrett on the Corvette Today podcast, Corvette marketing manager Harlan Charles promised official pricing would be announced soon. What’s more interesting is that Charles also hinted that the price difference between a base Stingray and a base Z06 could be similar to past models, though he said it in a somewhat convoluted way: “The pricing will be announced soon … but we are telling people, basically, if you’re used to the previous-generation Stingray-to-Z06 base-to-base, roughly, it shouldn’t be something that you wouldn’t expect.”

The 2014 C7 Corvette had an MSRP starting at $51,995 for a base Stingray. The same year, a base Z06 had an MSRP of $78,995, making a difference of $27,000. By 2019, the price difference between a base Stingray and base Z06 had declined to $24,000. If a similar price difference between base Stingray and Z06 models is assumed for the C8, that would mean a 2023 Z06 would be priced between $86,000 and $89,000 for starters. That seems like a very fair price for the performance expected.
