2023 Toyota Sequoia SUV Revealed and It Looks Really Good

Toyota has taken wraps off the new 2023 Sequoia. It has styling very similar to the recently unveiled new Toyota Tundra full-size pickup, which is only natural since they ride on the same platform. The SUV shares its architecture not only with the Tundra but with the new global Land Cruiser and Lexus LX.

The Sequoia is a full-size three-row SUV, and all versions of the Sequoia get the i-FORCE MAX hybrid powertrain producing 437 horsepower and 583 pound-foot of torque. The new Sequoia has a maximum towing capacity of up to 9,000 pounds.

Like the Tundra, Toyota is offering a Capstone trim at the top of the line. In addition to the Capstone grade, the Sequoia is also available in SR5, Limited, Platinum, and TRD Pro trims. The SUV has a sliding third-row seat and an adjustable cargo shelf providing six inches of adjustment range.

The new Sequoia gets Drive Mode Select, allowing drivers to choose driving modes depending on preference, including Eco, Normal, and Sport settings. The SUV is available with Load-Leveling Rear Height Control Air Suspension and Adaptive Variable Suspension. An available Tow Tech package for the Limited comes a standard on the TRD Pro and Capstone trims and includes a Trailer Backup Guide to make it easier to back the SUV with a trailer and Straight Path Assist to help the driver when backing up.

The SUV has cameras to provide the driver with multiple exterior angles that you can view on the touchscreen on the dash. The cameras provide a view from above, allowing drivers to see all around the SUV. SR5 buyers can get a TRD Sport package that adds 20-inch matte black wheels and special sport-tuned monotube shocks and springs. SR5 and Limited 4×4 buyers can get an available TRD Off-Road package that enhances the vehicle’s off-road capability with a selectable locking rear differential and Multi-Terrain Select system. In addition, all 4×4 vehicles feature a 4WD Low setting and Crawl Control.

While a 14-inch touchscreen is available, the standard is an eight-inch touchscreen on lower trim levels. Both run the new and greatly improved Toyota Multimedia system. On the safety front, Toyota Safety Sense 2.5 is standard on all Sequoia trims. Toyota is building all versions of the Sequoia in the US at its manufacturing facility in San Antonio. They aren’t talking about pricing on the Sequoia yet, but that information should be revealed before it hits dealerships this Summer.
